Welcome
Welcome to Caer Abred: Forum of the Druidic Order of Naturalists

Druidic Naturalism holds that there is only Nature and that the scientific method is the best suited to determine the nature of Nature. This is balanced with an aesthetic response to the world that is in line with that shared by the Druid community as a whole.

Druidic Naturalists will probably tend to be Pantheist, Agnostic or Atheist, yet see in Druidry an appropriate philosophy that allows one to honour ones Land and Ancestors in a way that establishes a healthy, and ethical, relationship with them and with ones fellow creatures.

Druidic Naturalism, as it has developed so far, embraces ritual, art and celebration as effective and satisfying ways to express this secular spirituality.

Would there be any mileage in the idea of a forum section where whatever was posted was NOT subject to skeptical scrutiny, but was to be discussed as on many other Pagan forums, where it is considered impolite to question anothers perceptions?

This would entail a suspension of Rule 3 in that forum section only:

3) All scientific, religious and political opinions and beliefs are fair game for criticism on this forum. If you do not want your opinions and beliefs subjected to such treatment do not post them here.

Or would that just empty the rest of the forum?

Should it be by application only?

What should it be called?

Over to you...

As an after-thought, how about a sub-forum in the Religion section?

It could be called 'The Inner-Sanctum'

It could be called 'Fluffy Bunny corner" ;)
It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring

Skeptical scrutiny is the means, in both science and religion, by which deep thoughts can be winnowed from deep nonsense

Only if there is another forum called "fluffy bunny arcade" where coincidentally identical ideas can be hunted mercilesly

Seriously I think it is an important part of this naturalism thing to be critical always... but to be nice always as well

Yeah, now I'm seeing why I don't want to open up about some of my thoughts  (tongue slightly in cheek!!)

To me, it's define 'criticism'. Does it mean simply analysing an idea, making suggestions? Or if an idea is slightly off the wall, does it mean shooting that idea down in flames? Would it be possible to sensitively explore some of the more off the wall ideas, hence the suggestion of a sort of 'fluff' section where people can safely explore some 'woo woo' ideas without being fed to the dogs so to speak??

Thought I must say, so far I haven't seen this sort of level of harsh critical analysis.

Thoughts?

Warm blessings

What about the Woo-Woo corner? I'm not a fluffy bunny, but it would be nice to have my Woo Woo straight occasionally or with just a twist of lemon.
