Welcome
Welcome to Caer Abred: Forum of the Druidic Order of Naturalists

Druidic Naturalism holds that there is only Nature and that the scientific method is the best suited to determine the nature of Nature. This is balanced with an aesthetic response to the world that is in line with that shared by the Druid community as a whole.

Druidic Naturalists will probably tend to be Pantheist, Agnostic or Atheist, yet see in Druidry an appropriate philosophy that allows one to honour ones Land and Ancestors in a way that establishes a healthy, and ethical, relationship with them and with ones fellow creatures.

Druidic Naturalism, as it has developed so far, embraces ritual, art and celebration as effective and satisfying ways to express this secular spirituality.

Sililoquy: The Woo is in my head. I can't prove at all that it exists outside of my head. However the woo exists subjectively in here (taps head with finger). So I have Woo syndrome, and this is due to an overactive set of neural pathways. But it fires a strong imagination. I wonder what is the psychology behind this woo syndrome. I don't think its a bad think as long as we don't mix up the inner and outer worlds (like I may have been doing recently)

Update. My recent spiritual gnosis seems to have been one of those emotional roller coaster things. back to semi-normal now..... :|

So I've concluded: I am very prone to a mystical/transcendent mind set. But my rational thinking default state has to be naturalistic skeptical agnosticism. But I am now even more interested in the psychological states behind spiritual experiences and moving beyond the default option I am even more interested in studying the 'paranormal' scientifically and how we come to believe all this crazy spiritual stuff. I'm also resolved to take another look this year at the patchy historical evidence for Christian and Pagan ideas and beliefs if only because its a fascinating detective story.

I may also be around a lot less (again) for a while. Bet you're all be glad to see the back of me ;)
